The differences between DSL and Cable internet

In general, cable internet tends to be faster than DSL, with average speeds of around 40-100 Mbps (Megabits per second) for download and 10 Mbps for upload. DSL speeds, on the other hand, tend to be slower, with average download speeds of around 20 Mbps and upload speeds of around 1 Mbps.

However, it's important to note that the actual speeds you'll get with either technology can vary depending on a number of factors, such as the distance from your home to the ISP's equipment and the number of users on the network. So while cable internet may generally be faster than DSL, that doesn't necessarily mean it will always be the case.

Another difference between DSL and cable internet is their availability. Because DSL uses your existing phone line, it is available in many more locations than cable internet. This means that if you live in a rural or remote area, you may be able to get DSL service even if you can't get cable.

This means that you are more likely to have a consistent, stable internet connection with cable internet than with DSL.
